Canadian Online Business
This post is not just for the Canadian business owners, but since that is what I am, that is who I will target.
I came up with a small list of essentials for your business to think about to be ready for when the economy gets back to the spending maniacs it really breads.
- Your own URL e.g. online-business.ca
- A copyrighted informative site with photographs and contact information
- A Hosting account with SimpleHelix
- If you have resources the site should be designed to look professional and with a Web 2.0 look and feel.
- Business Cards should include website on them
- Introduce new products and services on your website first so people who come to your site will feel like they are an exclusive group of people that get “all the deals”. Small to medium sized companies can make a living off of small promotions that control the homepage of their site
- Offer people to be able to sign up for a newsletter if they wish
If you want your business to grow in the right direction it will take time and dedication with a mix of the right resources. Go to people you trust and run your ideas off of mentors and people who have been through the process of starting their own business. The more you research and get connected with other people, the less painful it will be getting things up and running.
This short list above is a quick and dirty so to speak list. If you have a small business you don’t need to spend a fortune to get yourself online. I personally have created several website/blogs and there are many options out there that business owners had to spend a fortune on, and are now free.
Did you know a domain costs only $10/year? A good hosting package will cost you in a vacinity of $200-$300 year. Make sure it provides great support just in case your site goes down or if you have any problems or even simple questions a long the way.
If you have any questions regarding any of this information don’t be hesitant to leave a comment and I will get back to you. Helping small business owners get online successfully and cost effectively is what I do for a living, and this Blog enables entrepreneurs like you to get a few basic questions and tips for a head start on your online business venture.
