Why Wordpress?
Having a website for your business, even if your the small custom made jewerly shop, is crucial today. There is no easier way to find information about your business and what you are selling than on the web. I am now using Wordpress as a tool to serve small to medium sized businesses help gain a competitive presence online. Most see Wordpress as just a blogging tool, but in the recent few years it has evolved into so much more. If your into web design, business, hosting websites, or any web related category you are going to want to know more about Wordpress - especially if you don’t know about it’s plentiful features already.
- Wordpress is a community. With community comes tons of help and amazing depth of knowledge.
- Documentation - If you want to learn how to code in Wordpress and learn it from the inside out you have unlimited resources found here.
- Plugins - After you search through the wealth of amazing plugins open source developers are making for Wordpress you will wonder why you haven’t been using Wordpress all this time. You can put YouTube videos on your site in less than 30 minutes, SEO your site in a few hours, and insert your most recent comments right where you want too. You can search through the plugin directory here.
- Themes - I have purchased a few themes and currently in the process of creating my first theme from scratch. I am designing the themes in Photoshop, coding it in html, and implementing it into a theme using templates & pHp. This way you can customize websites for clients easier than ever before. Did I say Wordpress kicks ass yet?
- Multiple Users - If your building a website and need your clients to be able to edit content or even add new pages to the website easily then look no further. In the administration side you can set up an account for your client to only be able to do certain things - such as create new blog posts and pages. This is an amazing tool in my eyes because you won’t have clients messing up the entire website, and it’s pretty easy to learn. A few hours and an average computer user will know how to do the basics.
- Last but not least social media - if your into the social media scene you will see amazing integration into Wordpress. Twitter and Facebook have plugins galore and if your looking to spread the word about your brand then what better way to open up the conversation right on your own website?
So this has been a general overview of some of the reasons WHY Wordpress is such a kick ass business tool. I do work in my off hours for businesses so if you want your own custom website built you can contact me anytime.
Keep fit and have fun!
